Shipped is not a party to the transaction
Shipped publishes listings and gives a buyer and a seller a private place to talk. It is not a broker, an agent, or an escrow service, and it is not a party to any sale agreed here. The agreement is between the buyer and the seller, and so is every obligation in it.
Shipped never holds or moves money
There is no checkout, no deposit, and no payout on this platform. Payment settles directly between buyer and seller through whatever method the two of them agree. Shipped records what the parties say happened; it does not verify that money moved and it cannot reverse a payment.
Hand a project over in stages
- Agree. Settle the price, exactly which assets transfer, and who does what. The asset purchase summary in the deal room is the record of that agreement.
- Pay, and wait for the funds to clear. A payment that has been sent is not a payment that has arrived. Bank transfers, card payments, and PayPal balances can all be pulled back after they appear.
- Transfer. Move the domain, the repository, the payment account, and everything else on the included list, one item at a time.
- Confirm. Both parties confirm the handover in the deal room, which closes the deal.
Use escrow above $10,000
For a sale above $10,000, Shipped recommends a third-party escrow service, which holds the money until both sides have done what they promised. Shipped has no relationship with any escrow provider and earns nothing from this.
escrow.com is one such service.
Opening an Escrow.com transaction from the deal room
Where the deal room offers it, either party can ask Shipped to open an Escrow.com transaction for the deal. Shipped creates that transaction on the two parties’ behalf using the price and the project name already in the deal room, and then links each of you to Escrow.com to agree the terms and pay. Everything after that happens on Escrow.com and under Escrow.com’s own agreement with you.
Escrow.com holds the funds under its own licence. Shipped does not: it never receives, holds, or releases the money, it cannot move funds between the parties, and it cannot reverse or release a transaction. Shipped reads the transaction’s status back from Escrow.com and shows it in the deal room so both sides see the same thing, and that mirror is all it is - Escrow.com’s own record is the one that counts.
Shipped takes no fee and no commission on an Escrow.com transaction and sets none on the transactions it opens. Escrow.com charges its own fees, which Escrow.com quotes to you on Escrow.com before anyone pays. Opening a transaction is optional: settling directly between yourselves, as described above, stays available on every deal.
What the figures on a listing mean
Figures marked Verified are read from the seller’s payment and analytics providers. They prove money moved through those providers; they do not prove that the customers were unrelated to the seller, and they are not a forecast. Everything the seller typed - the asking price, the running costs, the time commitment, what is included - carries the Declared mark and is the seller’s claim, not Shipped’s. This page is a description of how the marketplace works, not legal advice.
